MAY ATC's

YAY, they're done. All 9 of them, ready for the big swap today.

Next month is "postage", so i'd better get thinking about what to do. So here's my FRUIT themed ATC for May.....

IMG_1251a

I used lots of new magnolia products, including the tag dies. the grass die, and the background love stamp. I found some old October Afternoon paper in my stash, and added some dimensional magic to the cherries.

Our Thai student has arrived and is slowly settling in. Let's see how long our freakishly tidy house lasts,

NO COLORING TODAY

That doesn't mean no craft, just no copics. I have been wanting to try out some new MFT dies, and had a family birthday card to make, so it was a quickie, but i'm happy with how it turned out.

IMG_1245a

You can't really see it very well but i have layered the two smaller doilies with foam dots. I have also used the two little rolled flower dies. I also can't wait to use my new rolled daisy die from MFT which is on it's way to OZ as we speak. (finally).

The sentiment is from PTI, and the papers, fancy pants.

My fruit- themed ATC's are finally done.....well, at least the first of 9 is...LOL. It took forever to come up with an idea (with four days to go), but i don't really mind as i quite  like them in the end. Will try to remember to photograph and post them tomorrow come daylight.

I was thrilled that my "BOY" card from my last post was featured in the Greeting Farm TOP CROP TUESDAY blog post this week. I also forgot to mention that my beach girl card with the punched seaweed and little fishes won the GREETING FARM challenge that i entered her in. YAY me! I still can't figure out how to put the badge/blinkie thigies on my blog, so not so YAY to that.

I really do LOVE the greeting farm stamps, and seriously can't wait to play with the new ones that are sitting on my scrap desk calling my name.........but no i will be good tonight and finish spring cleaning our ridiculously messy entire house in preparation for the arrival of our Thai exchange student in TWO days time. Wish me luck,

A "BOY" CARD

You know how i was going to share DH's b'day card last week, well, i nearly didn't for various reasons, but here it is anyway.

IMG_1246a

Firstly, one DD asked why i colored in a girl for Dad, then another DD asked what HB means? LOL. You've got to laugh really. When i explained it was a boy with dreadlocks they said, yes, Mum, we KNOW it's dreadlocks, but we thought it was a girl with dreadies! I know i'm really bad at all boy things, (having FOUR daughters), but DH really appreciated that i'd gone to the trouble of making a special card just for him, so thought i would share anyway.

So, here's what i used, if i can remember from a week ago.....

Greeting farm stamp, (NOAH)

Copics,

Distress ink,

MME paper, and Crate paper,

Bazill cardstock,

Basic Grey alpha.

Thanks for looking at my "boy" card.

AS PROMISED

I finished her last night and i'm pretty happy with the result. Did i tell you i LOVE paper piecing. Think i might have to schedule a class on it at The Imagination Factory soon! It really is so easy, especially with my most favorite tool of all, my cutterbee scissors. They ROCK!

IMG_1223a

Here's what i used.....

STAMP- The Greeting Farm

PAPERS-  The Girls paperie, Crate

COPICS

EMBELLIES- prima, jillibean soup

CARDSTOCK- Bazill.

This card got me thinking.......I love this card a lot, and i dislike the style/design of my blog a lot, so maybe i could make up a header with some colored images, kind of scrapped on a background with the title of my blog, and that could be my new blog! What do you think?

Oh, and mustn't forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DH for today. I'll show his card tomorrow once i've taken a pic!

MORE PAPER PIECING

You know how i said i liked paper piecing, well, while i had everything out, i thought i would make up a second image exactly the same as the first. If you're anything like me, i take literally hours sometimes to decide on colors, papers, etc, so this cut down on so much time. And i still do LOVE paper piecing. It's definitely my new fave technique! Paper piecing in itself is also a time saver, as depending on what bits you piece, you have way less coloring to do.

So here's my card for another of DD's special friends who is turning 15.

IMG_1222a

Here's what i used

The Greeting Farm Creeper stamp(leslie)

Copics

Memento ink, Xpress blending card

The Girls Paperie Paper and stickers

Kaiser flower

Prima numbers

Bazill cardstock.

I think that's all.

I have nearly finished another TGF creeper with a paper-pieced dress and boots! Will hopefully show tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by,

Someone asked me to make a card that has sparkly fluff on it,....so i used 4 different colors of it on ONE card! LOL! I think that she'll be happy.

So here it is.

IMG_1218a

Of course you'll notice that it's exactly the same image as my last card, and colored exactly the same, apart from her hair color. It was fun to see how differently the cards using these same two images turned out.

I used......

The greeting farm, Anya, Summer

Copics, airbrush

Sparkly fluff

jillibean soup tag

green tara flowers

the twinery twine

heidi grace pin

sassafrass and october afternoon papers

SUMMER FUN

I know, i know, you think i'm going a bit loopy. Well, i'm really not. I'm freezing my toes off in this chilly part of Australia as i blog, but in the northern hemisphere it is approaching Summer, hence the Summer Fun card for a challenge over at the COLOR ME CREATIVE CLASSROOM on the SCRAPBITZ blog here

So here's my card and i hope you like it. I chose my colors to go with the Fancy Pants paper that i really wanted to use.

IMG_1207a

Here's what i used

Greeting farm and Lawn fawn stamps

Cryogen white cardstock, memento ink

Copic markers and airbrush

Fancy pants paper

Bazill cardstock

Nestabilities and MFT dies

Doodlebug paper strips

The twinery twine

Kaiser pearl swirl

EK leaf punch(i think)

That should be everything.

As i used my airbrush to mask and color the clouds, i thought i would also enter my card in the COPIC CREATIONS coloring skies challenge here . I had lots of fun coloring my sky, then cut it all off with my circle nestie die LOL.

Oh, and i also entered it in the Thursday Throwback challenge for The Greeting Farm  here

MOTHERS DAY

A quick post today as i have a sickie home from school ....again.

I had a lovely Mothers Day yesterday. I received not one, but FOUR handmade cards, one from each of my darling girlies! Do you think they take after me?

IMG_1202a

IMG_1203a

I am so lucky. I was thoroughly spoilt. They all gave me something special that they chose themselves. Here's a little peek at my two "crafty" gifts......

IMG_1206a

Harriet made choc fudge and decorated a jar to pop it in....YUM! Bea gave me PRISMACOLOR pencils! YAY! Hmmmmmm, now to learn how to use them. Had a quick little play today, but obviously i have LOTS to learn. Have registered to do a course at COLOR ME CREATIVE classroom, so stay tuned.

That's all for now.

Happy belated Mothers Day everyone,

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

Just for a change today i have some cards to show that don't have stamps or copics! Really!

I have used all the gorgeous new My Minds Eye papers and embellishments for these cards, plus a few little extras. Nice and quick to make when you need a card to give in a hurry.

ANOTHER SKETCH CHALLENGE

I had the best night last night scrapping the night away with my two " scrappin besties". Finished off my ATC's just in the nick of time, then colored a Greeting farm girl "leslie" for their current sketch challenge. I tried paper piecing on her hat and pants, and i really like the result. I can see a lot more paper piecing happening in my scrap room soon.

So here's the card.....
