NUMBER 5

My last layout from the retreat. This one's for Bea.We gave her two female baby guinea pigs for her 11th birthday last August so they wouldn't make babies, and wouldn't you know it, Veronica was already pregnant! So, now bea breeds guinea pigs. This one is of Veronica's two babies, Squiggles and Mango.

I LOVE My Minds Eye's new Stella and Rose range. I've used the 6X6 paper pads again. They're not just for cards, as you may think.

Back on to guinea pigs. Veronica and Galadriel had their second litter of babies each over the weekend. Just had to post a pic. They had 4 babies each, one died at birth, and 2 were quite small, but are doing fine now. So here are the 7 babies.

MIMMI

Todays post shows my 4th layout from last weekends retreat. It also shows what a nice photo my new camera takes. DH bought me a new Canon EOS 5D Mark 2! Lucky, lucky me. I knew it was nice, but didn't realise just how fancy it was until i started a photography course on Tues and the teacher kept referring to it as a professional camera! I actually didnt have to alter it at all in photoshop, compared to the 3 previous posts, which i did have to alter, and they still don't look anywhere near as good.

So, i used the new MME paper pad for this, which i think worked really well, and of course a few of my favorite little hand rolled flowers.

I just realised that i was going to get daisy to sign her name on that little tag down the bottom. Must remember to do that.

JUST FOR FUN

Layout no 3 from the retreat. This one wasn't a challenge or class or anything, just a fun one about how Harriet always makes funny faces and doesn't co-operate at all when i try to take photos. As you can see, annabel is happily smiling in every photo, but harriet, well no, that would make it too easy for me!! You rascal.

I used some new American Crafts and Pebbles inc papers, and i have actually added another cloud since i photographed the layout. My friend Ebony showed me how to make the cute little rolled flowers on this layout, and i love them so much. Love how you can make them in absolutely any size or color to match any layout or card.

Off to a photography class tonight with my new CANON EOS 5D Mark 2 that Dh bought me yesterday, so hopefully i'll learn something and tomorrows photos will show some improvement. Off to play with my new toy.

A SKETCH CHALLENGE

The second layout i did on the retreat was part of a class with the super-talented Ebony van der Starre.

Her layout had a Christmas theme, but as she taught it based on a sketch and techniques, everyones turned out totally different.

I was really pleased with the result. I'm not a big purple fan, but i still like this layout.

The colors haven't photographed too well either. Think i need to play a bit more in photoshop.

Thanks for looking,

A SCRAPPY WEEKEND

I have just returned from my first retreat in 3 years a very happy scrapper indeed! Although i have been on THE IMAGINATION FACTORY retreat each year for the last 3 years, its been to work, not play. Well, this weekend was purely play. I went with my good friend Eb to Lancefield for a retreat run by Paulas Scrapbooking Place. I had so much fun.

On Friday evening, i was a bit nervous about scrapping a page, as it had been so long since i'd scrapped. So instead i got out my Copics and colored a cute little Japanese girl, and made her into an easel card, which i haven't photographed yet. Later in the evening, Ebony ran a blind scrap challenge, which was just what i needed to get started. I chose my fave pic of the fam from our American holiday last July, and this is the result.....

I used Echo Parks new range, " for the record" i think its called, with an older piece of LYB paper for the background. Hope you like it as much as i do.

My grand total was 5 layouts and one card, which i was pretty happy with. I also talked lots, ate lots, slept little, and made lots of new scrappy friends.

Thanks for looking.

I'M BACK

It's lovely to be home after 11 nights away. CHA was amazing, yet again. So many beautiful new products and ideas for fabulous projects to make. Very hard work though, so the 4 days in Singapore was definitely well-earnt, and well and truly worth the visit.

But back to our crazy life, with way too much to do both at work and at home. Hence, very quick post today, with 2 photos that i haven't even had the time to edit!

The first one is of me at the Tim Holtz stand at CHA. His work is not really my style, but it is so arty,i can still appreciate how amazing it is. (if you know what i mean)

And a post wouldn't be complete without a handmade something.....

Valentines Day isn't really big in Australia, but i thought i'd post a card with the new Echo Park "little girl" paper that could be used as a Valentines card.

Happy Valentines everyone,
