HAPPY BIRTHDAY BERNIE ~DS125~

Hi there.
It's Deconstructed sketch time.

This week I made a card for my dear friend Bernie's birthday. As well as being an amazingly talented scrapbooker, cardmaker and artist, she also loves to play golf, hence the image that I have used, from Saturated Canary. 



I flipped Jen's fab sketch on it's side, only because it suited the vertical golfer image better.

The papers are from an older MME paper pad.

I won't be around much this week as hubby has just had spinal surgery today on his neck, and is in hospital in Melbourne, which is over an hour away from here. So lots of travelling for me and not a lot of crafting.

~DS124~ WELCOME

Hi there. It's Thursday already and time for a new Deconstructed sketch.

Here is my card....


I tried something a little different this week. These cute little images are from a set by Doodlebug/Hampton Art/ Sizzix. They have tiny little stamps with matching dies.
They were super-quick to color in as they don't really lend themselves to multiple shades and blending.

INSPIRATION FRIDAY ~~ MASK OR MERGE~~


Hi there. Thanks for stopping by.

If you called in yesterday you might have noticed that I mentioned some exciting news I had to share today......

You may have already guessed, since the cute little LaLaLand inspiration Friday logo is at the top of my page.

My 2 months guest term finished last week, and I have been asked to stay on as a full-time designer for team Friday. Woo Hoo!

So here is my first Team Friday card. The topic this week is masking or merging. I know merging is supposed to be really simple, but I'm just not very computer savvy, so I decided to stick with what I know- masking with rubber stamps.





I stamped Luka and his little friend first, then masked them, and stamped over them with the stump.
His shirt is paper-pieced, with a little copic shading over the top.

JORDAN ~DS122~

What a busy week it has been in our household. We have celebrated two birthdays here, including gorgeous little Jordy turning ONE!

DS ~121~ YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE

It's that time again. It's time for a new Deconstructed Sketch.

My card this week was super-quick as I have no stamping OR coloring on it!

Here it is.....




And it's also very under-embellished compared to my usual style, but you know what? I actually really like it.

I even cheated and used this sentiment from a really cool new My Mind's Eye paper pad. I love the chalkboard look, but haven't yet mastered the look I want with stamping in white onto black.

The leaves and rolled flowers are cut with dies from LaLaLand crafts.
