DS82

Hi there all and Happy Thursday to you all.

Today we reveal our very last Deconstructed Sketch for 2012! This week's sketch runs for 2 weeks over the Christmas break with a brand new sketch for you after we welcome in the new year.

Now onto this week's sketch.....

As I have just written, addressed and posted over 50 Christmas cards, I wasn't really keen on making a card this week! So I decided to make a calendar page, for December 2013.......

I used a gorgeous Saturated Canary image, and colored her up to go on a 6X6"  calendar from
SRM Press.

Now all I need to do is decorate the other 11 months!

IT'S TAG TIME

Hi there and happy Deconstructed Sketch Thursday to you all.

If you've visited my blog during the week you will know that I have finally got into the Christmas spirit and started making gift tags. You could imagine how excited I was to see jen's sketch this week in the shape of.... you guessed it.... a gift tag!

So here's Jen's awesome as always sketch....

And my project using this week's sketch....

I absolutely LOVED this week's sketch. It came together so quickly for me. That's what I love about sketches.

I paper pieced the little MFT girl, so there was very little copic coloring in to do. My papers were odds and ends from October Afternoon, Echo Park, and My Mind's Eye.

Make sure you check out our DT inspiration, with a special shout out to our Guest Designer          JONI WILSON

CHRISTMAS TAGS

Hi there.

I finally had time this week to play with some new product just for fun.

Some new stamps arrived at the store this week from DARCIES, and I couldn't wait to try them out. I was just going to stamp them in red and leave them uncolored for a quick tag, but you know me and copics. I just couldn't help myself........

I was so annoyed when I turned rudolph over with a wet mane of stickles and a blob of red made it's way down his face. Oh, well. We'll just call it a freckle.

I've left the back blank for a personalised Christmas message.

Only 14 sleeps to go!

Thanks for stopping by.

A CHRISTMASSY DS80

Hi there all and happy Thursday. It's deconstructed sketch time!

Jen's sketch is awesome as always, and I thought it would be fun to make a Christmas tree decoration since the sketch this week is round!

You will probably notice that my tree is totally bare. That's this weekend's number one job. I really like this decoration and think I may now have to make one for every family member. They are very simple and quick. A great idea for last minute gifts for special relatives.

And then be sure to visit THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG to play along.

Have a great week and weekend.

DS 79

Hi there all and happy Thursday. It's been a hot one here today where I live. High thirties it reached, and into the forties in other parts of Victoria.

Good crafting weather though, keeping cool in front of the air conditioner.

This week's Deconstructed sketch was designed by the awesome Jen Shults. It  didn't take me long at all to put this one together. I'm pretty sure I followed her sketch to the letter too.

For my card I used The Greeting Farm's Latte Anya, and scraps of patterned paper. I stamped Anya onto watercolor paper and colored her using Tim Holtz distress markers. I think my watercoloring skills are slowly improving.

My very dear friend has just moved to a town 1000s of kilometres away, and I sent this to her for her Birthday. I miss her so much. She does read my blog but she has already received the card  so all is good.

There's lots of inspiration on the Design team's blogs, so make sure you check out their samples.....

Then don't forget to link up your entry on  THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG

It is our guest designer Cresta's last week with us this week, and we are looking for a new guest designer.......

It’s time for YOU to throw your hat into the ring to be our next guest designer. If you’d like to be considered all you need to do is make a project with this week’s sketch, post it on your blog and add a link to InLinks on Jen's blog for DS79. That’s it! The deadline to enter is next Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at 10 pm CST. The guest designer will be announced next Friday, December 7, 2012 and will design with us for DS81 and DS82 before we break for the Christmas holiday!!

We can't wait to see what you create. Will you be our next guest designer?

Thanks for stopping by,

Tracey.

SPECIAL MUM

Today I have both a card and a cake to share.

It was my lovely Mum's birthday and I made a quick card for her with no coloring. It was super quick in fact, as I based it on a card by my dear friend Julie who is an awesome cardmaker.

I used a MME paper pad which has lots of gorgeous coordinating papers.

We also celebrated our daughter's 15th birthday last weekend with a high tea at home for her friends.

This is the cake I made for her. Although the ruffles were a little time consuming, I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to do. The beautiful roses on top are fresh from my Dad's garden!

That's all for today.
I'll see you tomorrow with this week's Deconstructed Sketch.

Tracey.

A SMASHING DS78

Hi there and Happy Thursday to all.

It's Deconstructed Sketch time and I am super-excited as I have another Smash page to share with you today.

It's my second Smash page ever, and I think I will just fill the album with all of my favorite colored images.

So here goes.

I'm hoping that with time I will become more laid back and casual and worry less about where everything goes on my page. I'm kind of happy with my first 2 attempts though.
I used one of Krista's newer Saturated Canary stamps, which I love, and of course used this week's Deconstructed Sketch.

I know the DT's cards are particularly awesome this week, so make sure you check them out.

Don't forget to visit JEN'S DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG There's no time limit to play along with this week's sketch. Make sure you link up your card too for us all to see.

I'll see you all again in two weeks for our next sketch after the Thanksgiving holiday.

Bye for now,

Tracey.

I'M SMASHING!

I've been lacking motivation a little lately, so thought I would try something different. For some time now I've wanted to try "smashing", so I finally took the plunge and had a go. For those of you who haven't heard of smashing, it is like scrapbooking but in a smaller, ready made and often themed little book. Mine is just going to be for me, I think, with lots of my favorite images colored in.

Anyway, I'd like to share my very first page with you today. I made it a couple of months back whilst on retreat, and I pulled it out today to work on my second page, which I will share tomorrow.

I just may have to do another page now that says i heart distress markers too!

I'll be back tomorrow with my second page which might just be based on Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #78.

Bye for now.

DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH # 77

Hi there and Happy Thursday to you all. Yes, it's Deconstructed Sketch time.

I have a surprise for you this week. You may recall some weeks ago i began playing with a different coloring medium, Distress markers. It has taken me many, many hours of practicing to get the hang of it, and I finally think I may have colored an image that is "card worthy".

What do you think? (please be gentle)

I've made a little resolution to use at least one stamp per week from  my rather large stash that has never been inked up before. This stamp is the first. It's from Lily of the Valley and it is so sweet. Coloring fur is one of the most difficult things for me, and it seemed to be way easier with distress markers.
The happy birthday sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
Papers are a mix of my minds Eye and Echo Park.

I used Jen's fabulous Sketch which was fabulously easy to follow.

You can find plenty of inspiration from the DT girls on their blogs.

Then head on over to THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH BLOG to link your creation up.

Have a great rest of the week,

Tracey.

DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH 76

Hi all and happy Thursday. It's Deconstructed Sketch time and I have a fab sketch for you all this week.

I particularly like this weeks sketch as it's round. I really enjoy making shaped cards, especially round ones, so I had no trouble at all coming up with ideas this week.

I'm loving Saturated Canary images at the moment, and I have paired her with some Basic Grey paper and a few simple embellishments.

Make sure you check out the rest of the team for inspiration...

...and then pop on over to THE DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH to link up your project.

We would love you to join in this week.

Thanks for stopping by.

THINK PINK

I haven't entered a challenge in a long while, but seeing as this one is for such a good cause, i decided to make a pink card with only a few hours to spare before the challenge closes.

Copic oz is donating $10 to the McGrath foundation for every entry received.

I used this super sweet butterfly baby image from Saturated Canary, colored her with my copics and paired her with papers from Echo Park and Bella Blvd.

You can see all the fabulous pink entries HERE

Good luck everyone.

DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH 75

Hi there and happy Thursday to you all.
It's Deconstructed sketch reveal time again, and I'm sure you're going to love this week's sketch by the fabulous Jen, just as much as I loved it.

So, here's Jen's sketch, very versatile in my opinion.

And here's my creation. I rotated the sketch 90 degrees but otherwise pretty much followed it to the letter.

I really love Krista's Saturated Canary digital images, and it's the first time I have colored this one up. I think her name just might be Ava.

I hope you will check out all of my fellow DT blogs for inspiration.

Be sure to join in and link up your creation on JEN'S BLOG too.

Have a great rest of the week and I can't wait to see your interpretation of Jen's sketch.

Bye for now,

Tracey.

ANYA CELEBRATES

Today I have a card to show, just for fun! It's not one of my favorites by any stretch of the imagination, as my mojo seems to have gone on vacation!

My scraft table is one big mess so I just grabbed the October Afternoon scraps that were lying around. I paper-pieced Anya's present, and fussy cut some flowers from co-ordinating patterned paper.

One thing I like about these Anyas from The Greeting Farm is that although they are really large stamps, she is actually quite thin, hence quick to colour!

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back later today with my Deconstructed sketch post.

See you then,

Tracey.

DS74

Hi there and happy Thursday all. It's Deconstructed sketch time again, and this sketch was another favourite.

I must say I've been in a little bit of a rut lately using the same old stamps, and been in need of some new ones. So i was delighted when my MFT package arrived this morning.

I used Jen's fabulous sketch.......

And my new MFT goodies........

along with some October Afternoon papers, copic markers and cryogen white cardstock.

Make sure you check out the DT girls blogs for inspiration

WELCOME BABY JORDAN (DS73)

Hi there all and happy Thursday.

I've got this weeks deconstructed sketch ready for you, but before I do the reveal I have some very special news to share. Two days ago my husband and I were blessed to become grandparents for the first time. Yes, it is quite a few years earlier than we expected but i hope we will be a super cool Nanny and Pa, given our extreme youth. (LOL)

Our gorgeous daughter Annabel and her equally gorgeous partner Will, with their newborn son, Jordan Reid Sim.

We are so incredibly proud of them all.

So, to celebrate, I used this weeks deconstructed sketch to make the happy new family a welcome baby card.

Sheri designed this weeks sketch, which was so easy to work with.....

And here is my super-quick card using Sheri's sketch. As I was somewhat short of time this week, I decided to use this cute monkey chipboard piece from bella blvd instead of my usual copic colouring, and I was happy with the result in the end.

Make sure you check out all the DT blogs for inspiration.

We'd love to see your take on this weeks sketch too. You can upload your creations on Jen's blog HERE

Thank you for making it to the end of my extra long post. Have a lovely week. I know I sure will.

Bye for now,

Tracey.

DS72 and a "new" stamp company

Hi there and happy Thursday to all. I know I always say this but seriously, where has this last week gone? Hang on, I know, it's school holidays still here. Time really does fly when you're having fun.

We have a fabulous sketch this week. I really like larger rectangles as I get to make a scene, one of my favorite things to do. Here's Jen's sketch.....

...and here's my card.

As you can see, I've rotated the sketch 90 degrees, and then mirror imaged it left to right.

I've discovered a new rubber stamp company called 100proofpress. They're based in the US and I've fallen in love with some of their images, like this little girl with her teddy bear.

Her dress lent itself to be paper pieced I thought, and the rest was colored with copics. Most of the papers are from a recent Echo Park paper pad.

I've been playing around with the Tim Holtz distress markers this week. Fingers crossed that I've mastered them enough by next week to use on my DT card.

I hope you have time to check out all my fellow DT gals for inspiration. Their blogs can be found here....

Why not join in the fun and link up your creation to Jen's Deconstructed Sketch blog HERE

Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend.

Tracey.

A VERY SWEET DS71

Hi there,

It's deconstructed sketch reveal time again. This week's sketch is designed by teamie Lori Boyd, and it was such an easy sketch to work with. All I did was leave off the circle embellishment and then it was perfect for my image.

I've been wanting to purchase the big Anya stamps from TGF since they were released a few months ago, and finally they've arrived. I've used Anya treats for my card, with a combo of papers from 3 different companies.

I hope you like my card.
Please check out my fellow design team members for loads of inspiration

I'd love to see you join in with DS 71 this week. You can link up your card on the Deconstructed Sketch blog HERE

On a side note, you may remember my card from last week was a baby shower card. Well, we had a wonderful afternoon and i'd love to share the cake i made and decorated for the Mummy to be. I know it's not scrapbooking or stamping, but it's still craft related, right?

Although i'm just starting out I am enjoying this new hobby just as much as paper crafting.

Thanks for listening to my extra long post.

Hugs,

Tracey.

Happy 40th Birthday Julie

Last weekend I had the pleasure of celebrating my gorgeous friend Julie's 40th Birthday with her. Not only is Julie a wonderful person, she's also an extremely talented card maker.
Bearing that in mind, it took me a long time to make her card. In the end I still wasn't completely happy with it, but simply ran out of time.
I used Creeper Riley from TGF and colored her with copics.

I hope you like my card. I'll be back later today with another new deconstructed sketch.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tracey.

A BABY SHOWER DS 70

Well hi there and happy Thursday everyone.
It's time to reveal this weeks DECONSTRUCTED SKETCH 70

It's a fun one this week. I am hosting a very special baby shower this weekend and needed to make a card for the gorgeous Mum to be. Here it is......

The papers are from Bella BLVD, the cute stork image from Lawn Fawn and colored with copics of course. I followed DS70, below.....

Be sure to visit the other DS girls for inspiration....

And i hope you all have time to play along this week.

Tracey.
